This unit on law and justice will help students understand why laws are required in Britain and how laws are implemented and upheld in British society. The older students will consider why there is separation of power between the executive and judiciary. The older student will also consider the role of international law.

The politics and democracy unit aims to help students understand what a democracy is and why it is important to vote. Students will develop an awareness that there are different points of view on how society should be run. This forms part of the requirement for fundamental British values.
