I understand

73.5 miles walked, Over 4000 meters climbed, 2 schools visited and we are back!

The trip (organised by Community Action Treks) was to two schools called Ghunsa and Lacha to build bonds with the pupils and links between our two schools. The children from the schools were given gifts from Egglescliffe and balloons to play with whilst we visited. We drew with chalk and played volleyball with them. We also taught them English.

Our longest trek was eight hours and our earliest trek was a 4:30am start to catch the sunset on the top of Pikey Peak which is 13270 feet tall, from which we get a good view of Everest. Now because of the trip we have learnt never to take things for granted.

The team will be hosting a fundraising event in January 2018 to continue the good work that this trip has started. The evening will be an opportunity to hear stories from the trek, see pictures and watch videos whilst indulging in a range of cultural aspects from Nepal. Stay tuned for more information in the new year!
