GCSE Results 2017

Egglescliffe school students are celebrating another year of outstanding results at GCSE against the government’s new more challenging measures. Simon White, Head teacher commented that “A superb 79% of students achieved the new standard pass in English and Maths and over 59% achieved the strong pass of a Grade 5. We are celebrating that over a quarter of the grades in English and Maths were graded 7-9, with nearly 30 children achieving the new Grade 9, reserved for only the very best performances nationally. At Egglescliffe we offer an extremely wide curriculum and 13 subjects achieved over 30% A*-A grades.”

There are a number of students who achieved superb results across a whole suite of subjects.

A stunning 54 students (almost 25% of the cohort) achieved 5 or more A*-A grades at GCSE level.

Ben Kelly achieved a stunning 6 A* grades, 1 Grade A and Grade 9 scores in each of Maths, English Language and English Literature. Equally impressive was the performance of Jacob Holmes who achieved 7 A* grades, 2 Grade 9 scores, 1 Grade 8 and 1 Grade A.

Twins Amelia and Jessica Lancaster achieved 15 A* grades, 5 results at Grade 9, 1 Grade 8 and 3 A grades between them.

The table to the right gives just a snapshot of some of the other phenomenal performances from Egglescliffe students.
