A Level Results 2016

Stunning performances across a range of subject disciplines propelled Egglescliffe Sixth Form to their best ever A*-B performance of 67% at A-level. In addition, 90% of grades were at A*-C. Our Year 13 students sat 392 A-levels between them,A with every grade being an A*-E grade. We are delighted that Egglescliffe’s commitment to stretching and challenging all students of differing abilities was also evident. In 2015, a phenomenal 33.4% of grades were A*/A. This was eclipsed this year, with 36% of entries being these top grades.

ALevel-2016-Chart

There were some phenomenal individual performances. Sixteen students achieved all A*/A in their subject areas, sharing 57 A*/A grades between them. Having achieved all A* grades at GCSE, Oliver Bewley followed this up with 4 A* grades at A-level and will study Physics at Durham university. Richard Brooks, with 3A* and 3 A grades, achieved an astonishing 1710 points. With all A*/A grades Andrew Snell will read Music at New College, Oxford and Kathryn Wake will read German and Linguistics at St. Peters, Oxford. Some of these excellent performances are shown in the table below:
