Information for Parents

We send regular information to parents.

Newsletters

The school newsletter is sent to parents every month via ParentPay. The newsletters are also on this website. They give parents a detailed account of all the school activities and successes as they happen.
The Expectations Newsletter in July gives parents clear information about our rules and expectations, including our regulations on school uniform.

Pupil Assessments

In KS3 these are sent to parents at the end of every term and in KS4 these are sent to parents every half term. These assessments give information about academic achievement and pupil progress. The assessments also include an “attitude to learning” score. The assessments are discussed in school between pupils and parents.
Please see the presentation on Academic Tracking given to parents by Mr Henderson for more detail.

Presentations for parents

Various presentations are held to give parents information:-
September – an evening for parents of year 6 pupils to help them with their choice of secondary school.
January - an evening for parents of year 11 pupils to help pupils with their choice of sixth form.
March - an evening for parents of year 9 pupils to help them with GCSE option choices.
June - an evening for parents of year 12 pupils to help them with university admissions.

Parent Report Evenings

All parents are asked to come into school to discuss their child’s report with the tutor. We are proud of the fact that we have 100% attendance from all parents at these evenings.
Subject parents’ evenings are held in addition to the tutor evenings in the sixth form.

Parent View

Parents are asked to give their opinions of the school via Parent View.
