PHYSICS TEACHER
Welcome to Egglescliffe's
Physics Website. The material contained herein is best viewed with an 800
by 600 display in a 'true-colour' mode. This website commenced in May 1999.The
idea behind the website is to encourage the study of physics at post-16
level and share ideas and educational material.. Former students keep in
touch ! Feel free to print/download these pages and use them in lessons
/ private study or starting points for www exploration.Any of the material
in this website is freely available for anyone to use in their own educational
web projects. If you want to acknowledge this site as a source fine, otherwise
do not worry.Many thanks to:
.
Carlos
Frenk , Professor
of Astrophysics , Durham University for his
kind words, support and provision of a signed certificate for our first
competition.
Dr.David
Pyle of Cambridge
University for his kind comment and use of
the Isotope pages in his Undergraduate course.
.
George
JohnsonBiographer of Murray Gell-Mann
and Science writer for The New York Times
for
his kind comments and provision of a signed copy of 'Strange Beauty' to
use as a prize in one of our competitions.
.
It is hoped that
eventually most of the 'problem' type pages will be paired with a 'Student
Solutions' page with solutions provided in html format by 'A' - level physics
students at Egglescliffe.
If there is a problem
on these pages that you cannot do and there is no 'Student Solution' available
then e-mail me :
Ag@egglescliffe.org.uk
Any constructive
comments are welcomed - broken links/missing images or incorrect physics
? Is this website useful, interesting or fun ?
If you want a favourite
equation included in the 'Equations Gallery' e-mail us a suitable html
page or e-mail the equation and we'll produce one.
Please enter our
COMPETITIONS
!
We will try to change
these on a regular basis and continue to provide worthwhile prizes.

Caveat Emptor:As far as possible
I have tried to ensure that all webpages, animations, programming, graphics
(drawings/diagrams etc), physics questions are entirely the work of myself
or students. I reserve the right to edit, reject or modify any material
submitted by students for use on this site.Egglescliffe is a non-commercial
educational institution. Some images of physicists have been obtained
elsewhere from the www.If any of the images of (mostly deceased) physicists
that appear in this website violate any copyright then if informed, we
will remove them. Astronomical photographs are kindly donated from
the personal collection of Dr J.Grainger. Images from Caltech archives
have not been modified or used for profit.)This website is an
ENTIRELY non-commercial , non profit-making enterprise founded on the principle
that education should be an entitlement for all and that information and
knowledge should be available free to all who seek it. A.R.Gregory (1999)
